Miami Beach celebrates the Fourth of July at both ends of the island, with two fireworks shows at 9 p.m.: one over the ocean at 76 Street in North Beach and one off Lummus Park in South Beach. In 2026, the nation’s 250th birthday, the Fourth fell on a Saturday.

North Beach: Altos Del Mar Park

The city’s own celebration ran 5 to 8 p.m. at Altos Del Mar Park, 76 Street and Collins Avenue, in 2026:

  • A family zone with bungee jump stations, a tropical obstacle course, a sports zone, giant yard games and an imagination playground
  • Food trucks and a DJ truck
  • Live music from DJ Luc, MC Maria Salas and The Miami Beats Band
  • “The Star-Spangled Banner” at 6:30 p.m., followed by remarks from Mayor Steven Meiner and the City Commission

Nearby, the Miami Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave., became a free outdoor roller disco from 5 to 9 p.m. Residents with photo ID got free skate rentals; others brought their own skates or blades.

The night ended with a drone show and fireworks on the beachfront at 76 Street at 9 p.m.

South Beach: Ocean Drive and 12 Street

The Ocean Drive Association, with the city and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, hosted the Independence Day Fireworks and Patriotic Concert in Lummus Park at Ocean Drive and 12 Street. The Miami Beach Classical Music Festival orchestra played at 8:30 p.m., and the fireworks began at 9 p.m. The organizers suggested booking a table at one of the Ocean Drive restaurants or bringing beach chairs, blankets and a picnic.

What not to bring

The city banned personal fireworks, foam (Styrofoam) containers, drones, glass and alcoholic drinks at both events.

Boaters: the city closed Flagler Monument Island from 6 a.m. Friday, July 3, through 6 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2026, because of litter left by boaters in past years.

Fireworks at home

Under Florida Statute 791.08, consumer fireworks may be used on three designated holidays: New Year’s Day, Jan. 1; Independence Day, July 4; and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. They are still banned at the city’s events.
